Abstract

This study was conducted within the framework of introducing the phenomenon of urban sprawl on agricultural lands and restricting its dimensions and risks on villages, rural areas and economic activity inside and outside cities. Researchers, investigators and university professors regarding the field of geographic research have paid much more attention to this phenomenon aiming to limit its spread and vastness. Likewise, this study is a humble attempt to identify the phenomenon's concept and methods of study in Qarabulli region as a practical model included the whole region in terms of its geographical and climatic nature, demographics, age structure and the social situation of the population as per bachelors, the married and divorcees, followed by the economic situation as per their agricultural properties and their experiences of production and marketing. In addition, this attempt includes an explanation of the characteristics of urban sprawl and its related effects on the price of agricultural lands, building materials and the stability situation experienced by most of the population of the study area.
