Abstract

The current research aims to identify the type of relationship between the percentage of oxygen in the blood and between the age variables and the number of years of smoking in a sample of those who frequent public cafes and some cafeterias in some university colleges at Al-Marqab University in Al-Khums city. (151) smokers answered the interview questionnaire data, and a blood oxygen meter was used. Several statistics such as Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple correlation, and linear regression were used to achieve the research objectives and answer its questions. The results of the study revealed that there was no statistically significant relationship between the percentage of oxygen in the blood and between the variables of age and the number of years of smoking, which means that the percentage of oxygen is independent of age and the number of years of smoking. This may indicate that the lack of oxygen in the blood may be related to other variables such as: heart rate, blood pressure, diabetes, headache, shortness of breath, asthma, and finally the research presented several recommendations and proposals for other research that includes variables related to the proportion of oxygen in the blood.
