Abstract:


The objective of the current research is to identify the following: To identify the role of the social worker in combating violent extremism, as well as to identify the role of the method of community organization in combating violent extremism. It further aims to identify the educational role of the family in combating violent extremism, and to identify the forms, causes and manifestations of extremism, as well as to identify the most important ways and proposed roles for addressing violent extremism. This is achieved through the main question: “What is the role of the social worker in combating violent extremism?” Therefore, the researcher used the analytical descriptive approach, and reached many of the following results and recommendations: First - Findings The research confirmed that the phenomenon of extremism was not confined to a specific country or region, but rather became a global phenomenon. Studies and research on the same subject also confirmed that family factors ranked first with what they represent of family disintegration, domestic violence and the migration of the head of the family, followed by social exclusion. The research also proved that the study of terrorism includes various disciplines such as the study of terrorism from a religious, political, economic, social, and other disciplines. Previous studies have proven that there is a relationship between terrorism and political violence in both developing and developed countries. Other studies have emphasized the role of social work from the perspective of public practice in confronting extremism. intellectual. Second - Recommendations: 1- A deep and conscious study of the causes of extremism in every society, in order to reach a radical solution to it. 2 - Scholars must spread the correct understanding, through writing, publishing, sermons, and forums. 3 - The treatment of extremism should be according to a well-thought-out plan and organized steps whose spirit is wisdom, and we should not resort to force unless peaceful methods fail to treat and deter them. 4 - To confront extremism, a safe family climate must be provided, which includes justice and equality between children in treatment. 5 - Helping children choose good friends, and removing barriers that impede understanding between children and their parents.
