Abstract:

This research deals with the problem of cultural obstacles to the role of women in political participation, through a survey of the opinions of a sample of students of the Academy of Graduate Studies in Benghazi, in order to have a better insight to the most important cultural factors affecting the activation of the level of political participation among Libyan women, as they are the most vulnerable social groups to exclusion and marginalization. This field research concluded that there are obstacles that limit the political participation of Libyan women. Theses obstacles are found in the culture of Libyan society, as well as the absence of differences between women inside and outside cities.
